Carrot
Carrot is an important export vegetable in Poland. It comes second after cabbage regarding the total surface of plantation of vegetables in Poland (roughly 30 thousand hectars). Annual production (around 900 thousand tons) places Poland on the first position in the European Union among the countries producing carrot.
Apart from fresh consumption, carrot can be processed for juices, freezed, canned and used in lyophilisation). Fresh and processed carrot have various forms of use. It is highly nutritive and appreciated for flavour values. The most important ingredient: beta carothene (provitamine A) is important for the right functioning of many organs of the human body, in particular - eyes.
